Charles Stanley was born in Dry Fork, Virginia, USA in 1932. In 1971, he became the senior pastor of First Baptist Church of Atlanta, which had one of the largest congregations in the United States. In 1977, Stanley founded In Touch Ministries, the media and outreach arm of his ministry.
Dr. Stanley was married twice. He was first married to Anna, with whom he had 2 children, Andy and Becky. After Anna passed away, he married Betty in 2000.
