WILL GOD FORGIVE MY SINS?
‘Will God forgive my sins?’ is one of the most googled questions that people ask about God. Maybe you’ve wondered whether God’s forgiveness is big enough to cover sins like abortion, adultery, or even blasphemy—you are not alone. Many people feel their past mistakes are too great for God’s mercy. But the Bible offers an unequivocal answer: Yes, God’s forgiveness is bigger than any sin.
Psalm 103:12 reminds us: “As far as the east is from the west, so far has He removed our transgressions from us.” God’s forgiveness is not limited by the size or severity of our sin. Instead, it is defined by His boundless love and mercy.
THE SCOPE OF GOD’S MERCY: NO SIN IS TOO GREAT
The Bible is full of examples of God’s mercy to people who committed “unforgivable” sins by our standards:
• King David had committed both adultery and murder, yet he was forgiven by God when he repented (2 Samuel 12; Psalm 51).
• The Apostle Paul hunted Christians, despite this God made him one of the greatest evangelists (1 Timothy 1:15-16).
• Peter denied the Lord three times, but the Lord restored him (John 21:15-17). Isaiah 1:18 says,
“Though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow.” God’s mercy is not constrained by our history but is unleashed by our readiness to approach Him in repentance.
WILL GOD FORGIVE ABORTION?
Abortion is a highly personal and often painful subject. Many of those who go through it feel ensnared by shame and guilt. But Scripture promises us that no sin is too great for God when we approach Him with a repentant heart.
1 John 1:9 emphatically promises: “If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”
If you have had an abortion, understand this: God’s heart is full of compassion toward you. He relates to your pain and provides healing through His grace. Jesus’ heart for those weighed down with sin is revealed in the story of the woman caught in adultery (John 8:1-11). Rather than condemn her, He said, “Neither do I condemn you; go and sin no more.”
WILL GOD FORGIVE ADULTERY?
Adultery, like abortion, is a sin that carries significant emotional and spiritual weight. But the Bible also shows that God’s mercy reaches even to those who have violated the sacred covenant of marriage.
Proverbs 28:13 reminds us: “Whoever conceals their sins does not prosper, but the one who confesses and renounces them finds mercy.”

One of the best examples of this truth is the story of King David. After committing adultery with Bathsheba and organizing the death of her husband, David was confronted by the prophet Nathan. His humble contrition in Psalm 51 shows us what we can do to plead for God’s mercy:
“Have mercy on me, O God, according to Your unfailing love; according to Your great compassion blot out my transgressions.”
CAN GOD FORGIVE BLASPHEMY?
Blasphemy—speaking irreverently about God—is often considered an unpardonable sin. While Scripture mentions one unforgivable sin, blasphemy against the Holy Spirit (Matthew 12:31-32), theologians agree this refers to a hardened, ongoing rejection of the Holy Spirit’s work, not a single act of irreverence.
For those who fear they’ve committed blasphemy, the very fact that you are concerned is evidence of a softened heart. God’s forgiveness is available to anyone who humbly seeks it. Joel 2:13 encourages us: “Return to the Lord your God, for He is gracious and compassionate, slow to anger and abounding in love.”
THE PATH TO FORGIVENESS: REPENTANCE AND GRACE
Forgiveness is not about earning God’s love; it is about accepting His gift of grace through repentance. Acts 3:19 declares: “Repent, then, and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out, that times of refreshing may come from the Lord.”

Repentance involves:
Acknowledging your sin: Be honest with God about your mistakes (1 John 1:9).
Turning away from sin: Make a conscious effort to change your behavior (2 Corinthians 7:10).
Accepting God’s grace: Trust in His promise of forgiveness and move forward in faith (Ephesians 2:8-9).
HEALING AFTER FORGIVENESS: WALKING IN FREEDOM
God’s forgiveness brings not only spiritual renewal but also emotional healing. Psalm 34:18 assures us:
“The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.”
If you’re struggling to forgive yourself, remember that God’s grace is sufficient (2 Corinthians 12:9). Surround yourself with a supportive Christian community, seek biblical counseling if needed, and meditate on Scriptures that affirm God’s love and mercy.
LIVING A LIFE REDEEMED BY GOD’S MERCY
After you encounter God’s forgiveness, step into His grace and pour that same forgiveness onto others. Colossians 3:13 admonishes us: “Forgive as the Lord forgave you.”

Living a redeemed life means:
1 Believing God has a plan for you and God can work your past for his glory (Romans 8:28).
2 Sharing your testimony to encourage others who may feel unworthy of God’s love.
3 Walking in gratitude, praising God for His endless mercy and grace.
CONCLUSION: GOD’S FORGIVENESS IS LIMITLESS
There’s no sin that’s outside of God’s mercy. If you’re looking for forgiveness for abortion, adultery, blasphemy, or any other sin, know that God’s love and grace are available to you.
He promises forgiveness and restoration when you come to Him with a repentant heart. Let’s release the shame and walk in the freedom of His grace. As Micah 7:18-19 so beautifully declares:
“Who is a God like you, who pardons sin and forgives the transgression of the remnant of his inheritance? You do not keep your anger forever but delight in showing mercy.”
God does not forgive us simply to allow us to forget the past, but rather to grant us a future of hope, purpose and His unending love.
