HOW TO WALK IN PEACE WITH GOD… EVERY DAY

Struggling to find peace? True peace can only be found in Jesus and walking with Him daily. Here’s how to walk in peace as Jesus commands. Find peace.

When you look at the world, you might be wondering where is God? Wars, rumours of wars, riots, unrest, injustice – will there ever be peace? But it’s not just the world you’re looking at and asking “God, where are you?” Perhaps you’re looking at the storms in your own life and struggling to find peace. Here’s how to walk in peace with God in everyday life.

GOD IS WITH YOU TEACHING YOU HOW TO WALK IN PEACE

The truth is, Jesus warns us all of what’s happening in the world right now. Equally, He tells us that there will be valleys and storms in life. God does not promise an easy life… for anyone. But He promises to be with His people always – “And lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world” [Matthew 28:20].

Not only is Jesus with you but He also gives you peace through the Holy Spirit –

“I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world”

[John 16:33].

RECEIVING PEACE

If you want to know how to walk in peace, it’s important to understand that peace is something that you receive by faith, and you must grow in it. Philippians 4:7 reveals how letting the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, serves to guard your heart and your mind in Jesus Christ.

No matter what evil you see in the world, and no matter your circumstances in life, you must seek peace and pursue it. You must keep up with it, grow in it, and follow in it.

Why? Because Jesus is your peace. The more the peace of God manifests in your life, the closer it draws you to Jesus, the Prince of Peace, and the more you will experience God’s peace every day.

To receive peace, you must submit to Jesus because fear, worry, and anxiety change nothing. They only serve to steal your days and your joy.

TO WALK IN THE PEACE OF GOD IS NOT TO IGNORE REALITY

Peace isn’t ignoring reality. Neither is it just dealing with your problems and responsibilities. True peace is knowing and believing that even when life isn’t how you want it to be right now, God is working all things together for your good.

It’s trusting that God is with you in your deepest valleys and your swirling storms, just like He’s with you on your mountaintops.

Right now, our world is angry, anxious, scared, and in a state of panic. As a follower of Jesus, you need to manifest the peace of God more than ever before because today’s culture is chaotic. Fear and turmoil are rife. The people of God should not be adding to the fear and turmoil, but instead sowing peace. It all starts with your own peace.

PEACE IS NOT A FEELING BUT A PERSON

The peace of God is not a feeling but a person – Jesus. To know Jesus is to bask in His peace. You carry the presence and peace of God with you. At home, at work, at school, wherever you go.

You can’t only be a functioning Christian when life is going well. It’s easy to feel like you’re most effective for Jesus when everything in your life is just right. But it’s actually when you’re weak that God is strong.

It’s at you’re weakest that God’s peace needs to pour out of your life to show the world that they too can draw near to God when turmoil strikes.

LIVE YOUR LIFE FROM A PLACE OF PEACE

Live your life from a place of remaining in the peace of God. Doing this means you won’t be overcome by the things of this world. God wants you to be so rooted in His peace that you can walk with Him through any valley and arrive on the mountaintops.

Be so rooted in God’s peace that you can worship Him, praise Him, experience His joy in your heart – even when you face trials, accusations, problems, and disappointments that will inevitably come.

Every day you can go to God, praying, making requests, and telling Him about every area of your life. This gives God room to pour out perfect peace that will guide you through life.

So, just as Jesus commands the woman with the issue of blood in Luke 8:48 – “Go in peace.”
