Celebrate Tu Bishvat by planting a tree in the Holy Land!

Tu Bishvat is Israel’s ‘New Year for Trees’ (Arbor Day), celebrated annually in the beginning of the year, this year on Saturday 30 January.

The Tree has always held a valued position in Jewish culture for a number of reasons. According to the Genesis 1:11-12, God put plants and trees on the Earth before any other living thing. Trees grow where soil is rich and are a symbol of life and vitality.

As such, Tu Bishvat is acknowledged in several remarkable ways.
For generations the Prime Minister has planted his own tree to signify that the people of Israel are here to stay. Many Jews plant their own trees or donate money to organizations that run tree planting projects in Israel.

Plant your own tree in Israel

GOD TV celebrated Tu Bishvat by planting even more trees on Saturday, 30 January, as part of our ongoing ONE MILLION+ Trees for Israel project.

Since the start of this project, our GOD TV family has been exceedingly generous and over 500,000 trees have already been planted! Together we are making substantial inroads to claiming back the Negev desert and cultivating the land that God loves so much.

You can see from the winter rainfall that pools of water (prepared by man) have been filled through God’s grace as He sends rain to water the land. These pools of water make it possible for the trees to grow in this desert region.

Deuteronomy 8:7-8
For the LORD your God is bringing you into a good land—a land with streams and pools of water, with springs flowing in the valleys and hills; a land with wheat and barley, vines and fig trees, pomegranates, olive oil and honey…

Psalm 107:35-36
He turned the desert into pools of water and the parched ground into flowing springs; there he brought the hungry to live, and they founded a city where they could settle.

This is a unique opportunity to make your personal mark on the land of Israel.
For every $25/£15 you donate, GOD TV will plant one tree in either your name or in the name(s) of your loved one(s).
