MILESTONES

1987

A dynamic partnership is born as Rory & Wendy Alec marry in South Africa - a young couple with an enormous vision to impact the world through media.

1995

In the face of many obstacles and seemingly impossible bureaucracy, Rory & Wendy launch Europe's first daily Christian television network, the Christian Channel Europe broadcasting two hours a day across 22 nations.

1997

The GOD logo first appears on screen as the Christian Channel Europe becomes the GOD Channel and programming increases to seven hours a day. GOD TV's first regional office opens in Scandinavia.

1999

Following two years of rapid growth, the GOD Channel extends its broadcast time to 24 hours a day across Europe.

2001

GOD TV launches a major evangelistic initiative, 'Battle For Britain' (B4B) working with 2,000 churches. Millions of leaflets are printed alerting unsaved viewers to special outreach programming and new converts are referred to participating local churches.

2002

GOD TV moves its broadcast center to Israel opening the door for major international expansion. Regional offices are opened in Cape Town and Chennai and the GOD Channel is time-shifted for Africa and Asia. Within months GOD TV is reaching five million cable homes in India. GOD TV becomes available on the Internet.

2003

Rory & Wendy establish an office in Washington, D.C. with a vision to take GOD TV to America. Terrestrial expansion opportunities open in Africa and Indian viewership rises to 12 million homes. In the UK, cable giant Virgin Media makes the GOD Channel available to its two million viewers.

2004

Distribution increases across Scandinavia and a new European office opens in Hamburg, Germany.

2005

GOD TV launches across Australia and New Zealand and celebrates its 10th Anniversary in Jerusalem with an 850-member Israel Tour. A second US office is opened in Orlando, FL.

2006

GOD TV launches on channel 365 of DIRECTV, America's largest satellite platform. GOD TV's programming line-up is radically enhanced throughout the world with a brand new schedule. Cable viewership in India rises to 20 million homes.

2007

The GOD Channel becomes available to a further million homes on cable in the UK through Virgin Media and is launched into 3-million homes in Pakistan. Indian viewership on cable increases to 30 million homes. US distribution continues to grow as cable affiliate stations are added.

2008

GOD TV takes 1800 pilgrims to Israel to celebrate the nation's 60th Anniversary; the GOD Channel is given fresh impetus with more LIVE programming and a new regional office is set up in Sri Lanka. In one of the greatest breakthroughs in GOD TV's history, the GOD Channel launches into Greater China. GOD TV opens a third US office in Kansas City, MO.

2009

GOD TV tops 20 million homes in the USA, a milestone that follows increased satellite viewership on DIRECTV and GOD TV's launch on cable outlets in various US cities. An East Africa regional office is opened in Nairobi Kenya and an Australasian office in Melbourne, Australia.

2010

GOD TV launches on TopTV in South Africa and on Freesat in the UK. The Bay Revival is broadcast worldwide sharing amazing testimonies of people who have been miraculously healed.

2011

GOD TV concludes an agreement with KISS TV in Kenya to air GOD TV nationwide for four hours each day. GOD TV hosts its first Middle East Special focusing on its outreach into Arab lands and raising funds to support beleaguered Christians in Iraq.

2012

Celebrating 10 years of GOD TV in Israel, Africa and Asia, GOD TV's worldwide distribution continues to increase. GOD TV launches on Freeview in the UK and the number of connected homes in India rises to 68 million. The latest distribution figures reveal an increase to over 190 million connected homes reaching a potential audience of 600,000 viewers.

Looking ahead to 2013, this is set to be a year of overcoming obstacles as Rory Alec plans to climb Mount Kilimanjaro as part of GOD TV’s ‘Conquer Your Mountain’ Campaign.
