Reaching out to Captives

Together we are reaching out to those in prison.

Reaching out to CaptivesGOD TV is impacting the lives of many men and women incarcerated in prisons, particularly in the UK and Africa, imparting hope and facilitating discipleship by airing the GOD Channel into prison cells and community rooms. In South Africa, the GOD TV team aims to broadcast GOD TV into every prison cell and has already made inroads into the Western Cape prisons. The team is also in the early stages of gaining access to 45 prisons in the Eastern Cape. Prisoners who have access to GOD TV have testified to the impact that Christian television 24/7 is having on their lives.

One such prisoner is Kobus Scheepers who says, "GOD TV is empowering me. For eight months I watched it constantly and was built up in my faith." Kobus remembers one significant day when he was alone in his cell watching TD Jakes on the channel. Jakes pointed to the screen and said, "And you in prison, you alone there in your cell, the Lord has a purpose for you."

Kobus takes what he learns on GOD TV and teaches the other men in the prison. "Recently there were some excellent teachings on prayer from John Hagee that I listened to, made notes on and then shared with guys here." says Kobus. "GOD TV has helped me on a daily basis. I stand in my cell, just feeling the anointing of the Holy Spirit filling me and empowering me as I listen to truth. Others come and join me and I pray for them. It's a tool for ministry here like you cannot believe," says Kobus, "I can see God's plan in all of this and know this is just the beginning."
