    What a treat to come up to my computer tonight and watch your report from Israel! What a lovely idea to link us up like that.

    William and I were on the GOD TV Israel Tour in 2008 (over William’s 60th birthday as well) and it really was one of the most memorable experiences of our lives! One day we’d love to go back to Jerusalem. We would just love to imbibe the atmosphere of the Holy City and spend more time reflecting on the things of God. One of our fondest memories (they were all great) is the trip on the Sea of Galilee. The serenity, peace and presence of God was incredible. Another precious moment was the worship service we commenced our tour with on the Mount of Olives. Our hearts yearn to see the world focused on Jerusalem and the things of God.

    We have spent out lives teaching children the scriptures, but what a joy to actually see the places we know so well in our heads. One of the biggest shocks was seeing Jericho. In my imagination as a child, and probably from the illustrations of the children’s Bible story books I grew up with in the 50s, I expected a city on a hill! But there it was tucked away in the desert - just an oasis.

    Our prayers are continually with you this week. May the whole group have an amazing experience of God’s presence and purpose! May the scriptures come ALIVE and may each one of you have a fresh encounter with the Father!" – William and Charmian, Ireland
